Thomas Davison was the son of Shipsmith, Robert Davison, and his wife Mary.

He entered Westoe Secondary School in 1906 at the age of 14, and left in July, 1911, having spent his last two years there as a pupil-teacher.

On leaving school he became a commercial clerk, but served in the Merchant Marine for the war as a radio operator on the SS Cressington Court.

On 29th December, 1918, his ship came under gunfire from an unknown submarine, and Wireless Operator Davison was killed.

His body was taken to France, and he is buried at the La Bouteillerie cemetery, Nantes.
