GCSE Performance at Harton School

2nd September 2003

In the past week or so, pupils throughout the UK have been receiving their GCSE results and Harton School is particularly pleased with its results this year - the best ever, according to Ian Tunnicliffe..

Over 56% of pupils left the school with 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C, with one girl leaving with 17 GCEs at grade C or better and one girl in year 7 gaining a grade A in German! But for a change, it's not the girls who dominate the results - 6 out of 8 of the top results were achieved by boys.

Councillor Scott Duffy, one of the school's governors said:

The School is really proud of this year's leavers - their results are a testimony to their hard work and effort. I would personally like to thank all those who have helped Harton achieve its best ever exam results - the pupils, teachers, classroom assistants and learning mentors. Harton has a dedicated team that is committed to getting the very best for each and every child in the school.
