School Concerts

The school has had a long-standing tradition to have three concerts a year. There would be a Carol Concert just before the start of the Christmas holidays, a Spring Concert just before the Easter Holidays, and a Summer Concert just before the Summer Holidays.

Although the Carol and Spring concerts were almost exclusively musical events, the Summer Concert had a more varied programme. There would be readings, monologues and dualogues, as well as the occasional play. Some of the Summer Concert's items were winners of the school festivals held over the previous week or two, and sometimes there were demonstrations of gymnastic skills.

As I get them, I plan to upload the programmes for these events. My thanks go to Keith Trewhitt (who taught music, and was responsible for most of the musical events), for the programmes to date (except for the 1970 programme, which I found amongst my own papers). I know that there were recordings made of some of these concerts, and it would be lovely to be able to include MP3 extracts (within copyright limitations) where possible ... if you have any recordings, or other programmes, please get in touch.
