ALLEN, Alexander Gibbon

Alexander Gibbon Allen was the son of Shipbroker, Robert Stephenson and Isabel Allen, of Westoe Crescent in South Shields. He joined the school in 1890 at the age of 7, and left at Easter, 1898. In March 1906, at the age of 23, he emigrated to Canada to become a farmer in Wishart, Saskatchewan, and served in the war with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment). He was killed in France on 15-Sep-1916, and is listed on the Vimy Memorial, south west of Lille, dedicated to members of the Canadian Expeditionary Force . |
