Keith Anderson was the son of Shipowner, Thomas Tindle and Scots-born Clara Wilhelmena Anderson, and entered the High School in 1897, at the age of 9. He left in December, 1902, to attend Uppingham School, in Rutland, one of the country's leading boarding schools. The 1911 census shows him as a Shipping Clerk living in a boarding house in London. He joined the 4th Northumberland Howitzers as a Lieutenant, and was mentioned in despatches in January, 1915. He was later promoted to Captain, and the school records show him as one of several boys from the High School to be awarded the Military Cross. He survived the War, and died in Penrith in 1961, but no further definitive details have been found. |
