Ron Eadington's secondary education was at Blyth Grammar School from 1943
to 1950, after which he went on to University College, Durham. He emerged in
1953 with BSc (Hons) in Physics (with Mathematics and Geology as subsidiary subjects),
and spent a further year gaining his diploma in theoretical and practical education.
However, although he completed his education in 1954, it wasn't until 1957 that he
took up his first teaching appointment, which was at the South Shields Grammar
Technical School for Boys.
