TODD, Robert

Robert Todd was the son of bricklayer, Henry Routledge Todd, and his wife, Jane. Robert joined Westoe Secondary School in 1907, at the age of 13, leaving in 1909 and took a job as a clerk with the River Tyne Commission. For the war he joined the 16th Battalion of the Northumberland Fusilers, and was killed in action on 1-Jul-1916. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial. |
